Sophomore, Maritza Tellez has been running with the leaders all season long, and she finally came out on top with a 1^st place finish at the Pat Ryan Invitational.  She finished 50 seconds ahead of the 2^nd place finisher in that race to wrap up her October schedule.  Earlier in the month, Tellez competed locally at the Urban Cow held at William Land Park.  In that race she finished 16^th overall, was 4^th place in the female division and the 1^st female finisher in her age group.  Post-season competition begins next month as Tellez will compete in the Big 8 Championship, Nor-Cal Championship and hopes to earn a berth in the State Championship.
