A 3-time Monticello Empire League Champion and two-time Sac-Joaquin Section Champion for Vallejo High School, Beyonka McDowell (Marshall) qualified for the California State Championship twice and was a 2009 Vallejo Hall of fame Inductee.  At Sac City she finished 3rd in the State in the 100m and was a State Champion in both the 100m Hurdles and the Long Jump.  Her best time (13.70) in the 100m Hurdles and best mark (21’00) in the Long Jump still stand as SCC Women’s Track & Field school records.  She is also 9th All-Time in the 100m with her time of 12.03 and 4th All-Time as part of the 4x100m relay team that finished in 46.61.  After Sacramento City College, she transferred to the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of the 2004 SEC Outdoor Championship team.  McDowell was also the 2005 SEC Champion in the Pentathlon and finished 3rd in the Heptathlon at the Outdoor Championships that same year.  Her 4,076 points in the Pentathlon are 4th All-Time at Arkansas and she holds the top marks for Pentathlon events at Arkansas in the 60m hurdles (8.44) and Shot Put (45-8).  Beyonka is married to Gary Marshall and is currently a Special Education teacher.
