Jamie Nieto was voted the Most Improved Athlete in high school and was a two-time State Meet Qualifier.  At SCC, Nieto was a State Championship Runner Up in 1995 and finished in 3rd place at the 1996 State Championship meet in the High Jump.  He is tied for 7th on the SCC Men’s Track All-Time list for the High Jump with his 7’ 0.25” mark.  He then went on to be a 3-time All-American, the Indoor/Outdoor school record holder at Eastern Michigan University and was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012 at EMU.  Jamie is a 4-time National Champ, 3-time World Champion Team Member, 3-time Pan Am Team Member and was the 2003 Silver Medalist.  He is a two-time Olympian (2004 & 2012) in the High Jump and finished in 4th and 6th place respectively.  Nieto’s professional career as a high jumper has taken him to over 35 different countries and he has been ranked in the top ten in the nation by the USATF since 1998.  Since 2007, he has been pursuing his childhood dream of movies, acting and producing, while still competing at the highest level.  His first feature film (The Encounter) came in 2009 and he has been featured in five other films since then…they include Kontrast, Jerusalem Countdown, Red Line, andBaseball’s Last Hero; The Roberto Clemente Story, where Nieto plays the lead role as Roberto Clemente.  He is currently an athlete, actor, model and coach and is pursuing a career in entertainment and or advertising.
