From 2003 to 2006, Michelle played varsity volleyball for Bakersfield Christian High School. She was the team MVP, league MVP, and first team all-area as a junior and senior. And as a senior she was also the all-area MVP and a Prep Volleyball all-American.  After initially attending the University of Idaho, Michelle played 2 seasons for Laurie Nash at Sac City. In 2007 and 2008, she was the conference MVP both seasons and was first team all-Nor Cal, first team all-state, all-state tournament. She is the only Panther to be named first team all-American for 2 seasons.  In 2007, Michelle led the Panthers to a league co-championship and a third place finish at the state tournament, the Panthers all-time best finish.

During here Sac City career, Michelle set the school record with 744 kills, placed 2nd al-time with 212 total blocks (held by 2017’s Hall of Fame inductee Deja Sweeney) , 3rd all-time with 92 aces, and 4th all-time with 967 digs.  In 2009 and 2010 Michelle played for Fresno Pacific University and helped her team to back-to-back NAIA national championship, including an undefeated season of 38-0 in 2009.   She earned her BS degree in Kinesiology before playing for 3 seasons in the Professional Volleyball League for the NCVA Dream Team.  Michelle then spent one season playing professional volleyball for Club Galina Lichtenstein in Switzerland.  Returning to Fresno, Michelle coached for Clovis North High School and many girls junior club teams.  She then earned a coaching position for her alma mater Fresno Pacific University from 2016-2018 and then married her husband Garrett.  Michelle is currently continuing her education to earn her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology and is pursuing a career as a collegiate volleyball coach.
