City makes costly error in 10th as the Gladiators walk off with a 2-1 win

The Panthers suffered their first loss of the season on Tuesday.  The Chabot Gladiators walked off with a 2-1 win in 10 innings as a SCC throwing error allowed the game winning run to score.  The only other runs of the game came in the 3rd inning when each team score a run.  Joe McNamara doubled with one out, advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch and scored on a RBI fielder's choice by Auston Chastain.  The Gladiators tied the game at 1-1 when a two-out throwing error allowed an unearned run to score.

Chabot pitching struck out 11 Panthers and scattered 7 hits amongst 7 different batters and in 7 different innings.  Auston Chastain, Jake Rodrigues, Antonio Torres, Shaq Robinson, Jake Guenther, Darius Autry, and Joe McNamara were the Panthers that collected base hits. 

Matt Ornelas started the game for City and threw 3.2 innings and struck out 6 Gladiator hitters.  Billy Babb threw 1.1 scoreless innings, followed by a scoreless inning by Adam EricksonDanny Chavez faced two batters before giving way to Nick Mears who threw 3 scoreless innings.  Mitchell Miller finished the game and took the loss as the unearned run scored in the 10th inning.

Sac City will host Chabot this Friday (weather permitting) for anon-conference DH starting at 2pm at Union Stadium.
