Guenther's 3-run blast lifts the Panthers to a 12-10 win in game two

Game two of the DH between the Comets and the Panthers was another back and forth contest.  The Comets jumped out with 2 quick runs in the 1st, but City answered with 3 runs in the 2nd.  Contra Costa tried the game in the 3rd, only to give up 2 runs and the lead in the bottom half. 

City returned the favor in the 4th by allowing 3 runs and found themselves down 6-5.  The Comets would go up 7-5 in the 6th, but the Panthers scored 4 in the bottom of the 6th and took the lead back at 9-7.  Contra Costa scored a run in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to regain the lead at 10-9. 

In the bottom of the 8th, Jake Guenther hit a towering 3 run shot to right to put the Panthers up once and for all at 12-10.  Mitchell Miller set down the Comets in order in the 9th and got the win in relief.

Malcolm Boehm went 2x4 with a double and 2 runs scored and Brett Little went 2x3 with a homerun, 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored.  Zach Ewertsen and Creed Smith both scored twice for the Panthers in the win.  Jake Guenther hit the game winning 3 run homer and scored 2 runs as well.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 5-2 on the season and will host Feather River College on Monday at 12:30pm.
