Sac City Powers Past Feather River, 9–2, Behind Lucas Drake's 4-Hit Day and Wilson's Strong Start
Sacramento City College jumped out early and never looked back on Wednesday, beating Feather River, 9–2, on the road in Quincy behind a breakout game from Lucas Drake and a lockdown start from Brady Wilson. The Panthers (24–21) plated runs in four different innings and capitalized on four Golden Eagles errors to cruise to the win over the 33-win Feather River squad.
Drake Leads the Charge at the Plate
Sophomore second baseman Lucas Drake turned in a career-best performance, going 4-for-4 with a three-run home run in the seventh that broke the game open. He scored three times and drove in three, helping Sac City pull away after leading 5–1 through six.
Drake's first-inning run was the first of two early scores, with Jackson Blakley and Levi Sotomayor each picking up RBIs in the first and second innings to stake the Panthers to a 2–0 lead.
Sac City Adds On in the Middle Innings
After a scoreless third through fifth, Sac City erupted in the sixth with a three-run rally. RBI contributions came from Dom Agrella, Tyson Mayberry, and Blakley, who finished with two RBIs on the day. The three-run seventh—capped by Drake's homer—put the game out of reach at 8–1.
Wilson and Williams Silence Feather River
On the mound, Brady Wilson (W, 7.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 6 K) was in command all game, working efficiently and attacking the strike zone. He retired 13 of the final 16 batters he faced before turning it over to Cody Williams, who struck out four over two clean innings to close it out.
Feather River scratched across single runs in the sixth and seventh, with Zane Denton driving in a run and Kolt Kurzman scoring on a passed ball, but couldn't generate enough sustained offense.
