Panthers finish the 2017 season with an 8-3 record, which started with a 6 game win-streak
Sacramento City Panthers Football finished the season with a (8 - 3) record and a Capital City Bowl Game appearance versus the San Francisco Rams.  Despite losing the playoff game 55 - 21 the Panthers had a very stable season with a winning percentage of .727 and averaging 30.5 points per game.
 
They started out the season with a 6 game win streak including a overtime 37 - 34 win on September 22nd at Santa Rosa. With some injuries and inconsistent play the last five games, the Panthers still found a way into the playoffs with a huge conference win at home against Butte. The Roadrunners completed a hail mary touchdown to put them within one before the Panthers made a stop on the failed two-point conversion to end regulation.
 
Statistically the Panthers averaged 382.3 yards per game (143.3 rushing and 234.0 passing) and were in the top 5 overall in passing yards per completion (15.4 yds). Freshman QB Jayden Machado had a completion percentage of 53.4% to go along with 2382 passing yards, 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. The top four rushers (Bussey, Lindsey, Wright, Montanez)  for the Panthers averaged 5.6 rushing yards per attempt with Tre Bussey leading the attack with 628 yards and 4 touchdowns. On the receiving end, Jordan Moore had a monster season with 51 receptions and 1012 yards receiving and 9 total touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball Terrance Merch and Christian McFarland both combined for 122 tackles, Chris Le and Dustin Arango both each had 3 INT, and 16 total sacks.
