Sac City beats American River and finishes 2nd in the Big 8 Conference

The Panthers completed the regular season Thursday with their 7th straight win, a 95-74 win at American River. Down 12 early, the team closed the half on a 28 to 8 run to lead by 8 at the break. American River cut the lead to 2 in the second half, but the Panthers pulled away for the win.

 

Sac City finishes in second place in the Big 8, a game behind Santa Rosa. KJ Duronslet posted 32 points and 13 rebounds, to more than offset 25 points and 12 rebounds from ARC's Jerico Avery. Michael Wadsworth had 19 points, while Gabe Serna came off the bench to contribute 16 points.

 

The Panthers should be on the road when the post-season schedule is released  Monday, February 20th.  Congratulations to Coach Jones, the entire coaching staff, and the players for securing a spot in the 2017 CCCAA State Playoffs.
