City can't overcome slow start as Butte holds on for the victory

 

The Panthers got off to a slow start Friday before falling 78-63 to Butte in the CCCAA NorCal Regional Playoffs. Sac City trailed 34-21 at the half and battled to a 44-42 second half. Cold shooting at 40% from the field and a rebound advantage by Butte of 44-29 were also key factors in the Panthers home playoff loss.

 

Sac City was led by guard Gabe Serna 16 points who went 4 of 8 from the three point line. Guard/forward KJ Duronslet scored 13 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and had 4 assists. Also Alex Tsverov scored 10 points and Michael Wadsworth finished with 11 points.

 

Sac City ends the season with an 18-11 record overall with a second place finish in the Big 8 as well. Congratulations to the Panthers players and the coaching staff on the second consecutive season earning a playoff berth.
