Coach Badovinac is coaching the men’s and women’s throwers for the SCC panthers. Badovinac is a local product of Sacramento, graduating from Jesuit High School and then competing for the UC Berkeley Bears. He was the Junior National Champion in the Hammer Throw in 1998, which earned him a prestigious spot on the USA Junior World Championships team.

Badovinac had been coaching eight years at the high school level prior to joining the panthers, and during this time span had eight state meet qualifiers for the California High School Championships. He was a valued member of Jesuit’s 2010 State Track and Field Championship coaching staff.

Since joining the panthers, Badovinac has made an immediate impact. He had three state meet finalists in just his first season. Badovinac holds a Level 2 certification from USATF, along with certification from USA Weightlifting.

He recently was appointed the head throws coach at the newly opened World Throws Center in Sacramento.
