Angelica Dark is named the SCC Female Athlete of the Year

The Sacramento City College 2016-17 Female Athlete of the Year . . .Angelica Dark (Softball)

            Angelica Dark was a workhorse in the pitchers circle for the Panthers softball team this season.  She threw 216.2 innings (5th highest in the state) out of the 238 possible, and was the pitcher of record in all 23 wins the Panthers had on the season.  Angelica Dark started 31 games for City and completed 28 (2nd in the state) of them.  She was a 1st Team All-Big 8 Conference Selection.

            Angelica Dark led the Big 8 with a 2.16 earned run average, 120 total strikeouts and her 23 wins was 2nd best in the Conference.  She also could handle the bat hitting .283 on the season with a .327 on base percentage.  More importantly, Angelica Dark was one of the main reasons the Panthers finished 4th in Conference and made a return trip to the CCCAA Softball Playoffs.
