No. 7 SCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL (13-4 / Big 8 1-1) DEF. MODESTO (79-40) MAKE (13) 3PT. SHOTS

The No. 7 (13-4/Big 8 1-1) Sacramento City College Women's Basketball team came out Friday and shot ball really well and jumped out to a 36-24 lead at halftime. The Panthers offense and defense eleveated its play in the second half outscoring the Modesto Pirates 43-16. The Panthers were (13-25) 52% from the three point line and (28-51) 55% from the field.

 

The Panthers were led by sophomore G (#12) Jasmine Bernardo who shot ball the well going (5-5) from the three point line and (7-7) from the field scoring 19 points. Sophomore G/F (#23) Aleea Reese scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Redshirt freshman G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale also put another strong effort scoring 14 points with 9 rebounds. Sophomore G (#0) Corina Tacardon scored 11 points and sophomore F (#21) Kristen Gooding scored 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds as well.

 

The Panthers return to Big 8 action next Tuesday on the road to face the Cosumnes River Hawks (3-10/Big 8 1-1) 5:30 PM. The Sac City Panthers next home game will be Friday January 15, 2016 at 5:30PM against San Joaquin Delta College.
