The City women's golf team started Conference play with the Big 8 Tournament #1 on Thursday at Whitney Oaks Golf Course. Overall the Panthers would finish in 6th place with a team score of 401. Leading the way for SCC was Ciera Hoag who shot a season-best 87.
Sierra College would win the tournament with an overall score of 321. Modesto (350, Canada (360), Butte (372) and San Joaquin Delta (379) were the other schools that finished their rounds in front of Sac City. Napa Valley and American River finished in 7th and 8th place with a 403 and 472 respectively.
Hunter Hoag had the next best score for the Panthers as she shot a 92, which was 3 strokes better than her previous match. Hannah Reynoso finished with a familiar 104…the same she shot in the Modesto Tournament a week earlier. Hannah Peters finished at 118 and Jayla Pons ended her round with a 129.
City is back in action next week in the Big 8 Tournament #2 at Elkhorn GC on Thursday, September 14th at 1pm.
