Panthers compete at the Bill Musick Open, their last individual tournament of the year

In the last individual tournament of the season, SCC traveled to Fresno for the Bill Musick Open. While mostly a JC tourney, Wrestlers from Fresno State and Bakersfield State were there as well. 
The Panthers got 5 into the semi-finals and 2 into the finals on a solid day for SCC. Abel Garcia (174) and Robert Sillas (184) both made the finals but fell to the Fresno State foe in the finals to finish 2nd. 

Isaac Bertolotto (165), Cole Tigert (184) and Robert Nickerson all lost in the semi round. Isaac Bertolotto, making 165 for the 1st time, lost to CCC #1 Victor Vargas in a tough 8-4 match.  Cole Tigert, wrestling for the first time since the first tourney of the year at SCC, lost to teammate Robert Sillas in the semi. Robert Nickerson met CCC #1 also, and lost a close 10-6 Match. All three ended up in 6th place on the day. 
Brandon Gonzales (125) had his best tourney of the season finishing in 4th place. Both his losses were to Fresno State's Jeremy Trinh. Brandon Gonzales defeated #7 ranked Jacob Delgado of Fresno City in the consolation semi to get in to consolation final.

Omari Batts (149) finished in 5th place after losing his first match.

Savonn Sanders (157) also lost his first match of the day and battled back to a 6th place finish.

Luis Ayala (185) picked up a 5th place finish after losing his first match.

Eric Giner picked up a win at 174 as did Danile Warden at 197.

The Panthers finish their regular dual season at home against Simpson University on Thursday, Nov. 9th at 7 PM.

The regular season ends two days later on Saturday, Nov. 11th starting at 10 am as SCC hosts Shasta, Delta, Santa Rosa and Skyline in a multi dual meet.
