The Panthers finish 4th at their 34th Annual KLS Air Express Tournament
The Panthers finished 4th at their own, KLS Air Express Tournament.

Leading the way was Soph, Abel Garcia (Oakdale HS) at 174 pounds who won his weight. Abel is now 7-0 with 4 falls this season. Last season he finished in 2nd place in the CCC State Championships

Freshmen Conrad Trevino (Del Campo HS) 165 and Bronson Harmon (Oakdale HS) 184, both finished 4th. Trevino lost his first match of the day, then battled back for three straight wins, two by fall before losing in the 3rd place match to Zach Poore of Fresno City. Poore is also the one he was defeated by in his first match.  Harmon went 3-2 on the day and was defeated 5-4 to the eventual Champion, Tevin Bailey of Lassen in the semi. Bronson had one fall on the day.

Three others tied for 5th. They are: Dylan Crawford, Soph 157 (Lodi HS), Manny Curry, Fresh 165 (Pleasant Grove HS) and Steven Abbott, Soph 197 (Orland HS). Crawford went  3-2 on the day and ended with an injury.  He had a tech-fall and a major in his wins. Curry won his first two matches by fall to get to the semi-finals where he lost to #1 seed Conrad Lopez of Fresno.  He came to the consolations and was defeated by teammate Trevino in the conso-semi.  Abbott also won his first two matches including a major decision, before losing to the eventual champion, Anthony Cress of Chabot and falling again in the conso-semi match.

Others picking up wins for the Panther cause were: Ryun Ortiz (133-Soph-Virginia), Ryan Harlow (133-Fresh-Elk Grove), Thomas Thornton (141-Soph-Yuba City), Andrew Garcia (149-Soph-Calaveras), Marques Evans (157-Soph-Capuchino), Jordan Denny (184-Soph-Folsom), Joe Rodondi (197-Fresh-College Park), and Jose Montes (285-Fresh-Oregon).

Looking to get a couple of sophomores back in the line-up this weekend.  Isaac Bertalotto (Soph-184-Turlock) and Brian Horn (Soph-184-Rocklin) will get into their first competition. Beralotto was 5th in CCC States last year at 165 and looks to get to that weight down the road.  Horn took 8th in state last year at 165 and will be looking to stay in the 184/197 weights this year.
