Wrestling continues Big 8 dominance with their 8th straight Conference Championship
The Sacramento City College Wrestling Panthers defeated Sierra College 42-9 and won its 8th consecutive BIG 8 Conference Championship.
 
SCC lost the first and last matches, but rattled off 8 straight wins in the middle for the final outcome. Manuel Curry (Fresh-157-Pleasant Grove), Conrad Trevino (Fresh-165-Del Campo) and Brian Horn (Soph-197-Rocklin) all scored falls for SCC.
 
Top performers for SCC in conference this year were:  Manuel Curry (4-0 @157), Abel Garcia (4-0 @ 174 /165), Brian Galeno (3-0 @141), Conrad Trevino (3-0 @ 165), Michael Mello (3-0 @ 149/141), Bronson Harmon (2-0 @ 184), Jordan Denny (2-0 @ 174/184) and Brian Horn (3-1 @ 197/285).  Others getting wins in the duals were:  Ryun Ortiz, Ryan Harlow, Thoai Dat, Marques Evans, Andrew Garcia, Steven Abbott and Eddie Zamora.
 
Congrats on another fine conference season. SCC has gone undefeated in the BIG 8 for the past 8 years. SCC outscored its BIG 8 opponents 159-35 and won 32 of the 40 individual matches.
 
SCC has won 16 Conference Championship under the helm of Coach David Pacheco.
