The end of an era; Coach Pacheco retires after 37 years of coaching wrestling at Sac City

Coach Pacheco is retiring after coaching wrestling at Sacramento City College for 37 years (and 40 years of coaching overall).  He has helped develop one of the finest wrestling programs in the state and one of the Panthers most successful programs.  Pacheco's 2018 team was the State Runner-Up and won an unprecedented 8th consecutive Big 8 Conference Championship.  During his years at SCC, Pacheco won 4 State Championships (1996, 2000 (Dual Meet), 2013 and 2015), 16 Conference titles, 4 Regional titles and has been named the State Coach of the Year 3 times.  He has coached 21 individual State Champions, over 90 All-Americans, over 175 State Medalists, 50 Individual Regional Champions and 89 Academic All-Americans.  He has been inducted into the Idaho State University Hall of Fame and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame (California Chapter).  We wish him all the best in retirement and the Panthers will continue to build upon the legacy of Coach Pacheco and the wrestling program.
