Coach Lawrence Saenz begins his 10th season with the Panther coaching staff. Saenz has coached at Rodriguez HS of Fairfield as well as Kennedy HS of Sacramento. Saenz started the program at Rodriguez and the West Sacramento Youth Wrestling Club. His son Lawrence Jr. attends Vacaville HS and is one of the top young wrestlers in the State and the Nation.

Saenz graduated from Armijo HS in Fairfield. He enrolled later at Sacramento City College where he won one Regional Title and was a State Medalist. He was a mainstay on the SCC State Championship team of 1996. After he graduated from SCC, he went on to wrestle for San Francisco State University and received a BA in Business Administration & Computer Information Systems. He currently is the IT Manager for Mariani Nut Company in Winters, CA.

Coach Saenz lives in West Sacramento with his wife Lisa and his two children, Lawrence Jr. and Breanna.
