Alexia Poon is named as the Panthers new Women's Soccer Head Coach

The Panthers are pleased to announce Alexia Poon as the new Women's Soccer Head Coach.  For Poon, it will be a homecoming of sorts as she returns to Sacramento; having spent the past 2 seasons as the Head Women's Soccer Coach at Arizona Western College (in Yuma).  During her two seasons at AWC, she compiled an overall record of 27 wins, 13 losses and 4 ties and led the Matadors to the post-season both seasons and their first home playoff game in school history in 2017.  Prior to AWC, she was an assistant coach at San Joaquin Delta College for two years and an assistant coach at CSU Stanislaus for one year.

Poon is familiar with Sacramento and Freeport Blvd., having played and graduated from C.K. McClatchy high School.  She continued her playing career at CSU Stanislaus and helped lead the team to their best overall record in school history (18-1-2), won a California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship and competed in the NCAA Division II National Tournament.  She was a 2-time team captain and ranks 10th in career points with 41 and is tied for 7th in single season assists with 7.

Sac City Athletic Director Mitch Campbell said, "We are extremely excited to have Alexia come on board and know she will be a great addition to our staff!"

Coach Alexia is eager to apply her coaching philosophy at SCC; a philosophy that has been successful throughout her career and focuses on the overall success of her student-athletes.
