Michelle (Johnson) Gibson is a former Panther and Sac City Volleyball Alum, where she helped contribute to the team’s third place state finish in 2007 and state tournament appearance in 2008. At Sac City, she was league MVP, first team all-state, two-time first team All-American, and Sac City Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee (2019). Gibson advanced to Fresno Pacific University and was a member of the 2009 and 2010 NAIA National Championship Teams. In 2012 & 2013, she competed in the inaugural seasons of the Professional Volleyball League (PVL) and played for the NorCal Region. Gibson continued her career in Liechtenstein for Club Galina before retiring in 2014.

A versatile player, Gibson contributed as an outside hitter, right side and middle blocker throughout her career. Michelle has a passion for mentoring and player development as she brings thirteen years coaching experience at the high school, club, and collegiate level. Her former coaching position was the Associate Head Coach at Fresno Pacific University (2016-2019).

Gibson earned a Bachelor of Arts (2013) and Master’s Degree (2021) in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University. She and her husband, Garrett, have a two-year-old daughter, Bowie and live in Sacramento.
