Sacramento City Rallies Early to Defeat San Joaquin Delta, 6–2

Sacramento City used a pair of big innings and a strong pitching performance from Korrie Almond to earn a 6–2 home victory over San Joaquin Delta on April 8, 2025.

Early Deficit Doesn't Rattle Panthers
After Sacramento City fell behind 2–0 in the top of the second inning—thanks to a fielding error and an RBI double by Tara Fornaciari—they answered swiftly in the bottom half. Elyse McCartney came through with a clutch 2-RBI double to tie the game, followed by a bases-loaded walk to Jenna Potter that gave the Panthers a 3–2 lead.

Potter Delivers Again in the Fourth
Potter stayed hot in the fourth, ripping a 2-run double to left-center that scored Chloe Kimbrell and Lily Lopez. Moments later, she came around to score on a wild pitch, stretching Sacramento City's lead to 6–2.

Korrie Almond in Control
In the circle, Almond was steady and efficient. The Panther ace scattered 10 hits over seven innings but didn't allow an earned run. She struck out four and walked just one, improving her record to 14–6 on the season.

Delta Threatens but Can't Break Through
San Joaquin Delta collected 10 hits, including four doubles from four different players, but left 10 runners on base. Despite consistent traffic on the bases, they couldn't cash in after the second inning.
