Panthers Explode Offensively to Top American River 10–5 in Game Two
Sacramento City bounced back in a big way in the second game of their April 12 doubleheader, using a well-balanced offensive attack and key power hits to defeat American River 10–5 on the road.
Early Fireworks from Both Sides
After American River briefly tied the game 1–1 in the second, the Panthers responded in the third with a no-doubt two-run homer by Ava Seguin, to reclaim a 3–1 lead. American River answered in the bottom half with three runs of their own, highlighted by Lindsay Paredes' two-run blast, putting the Beavers ahead 4–3.
Panthers Pull Away in the Middle Innings
Sacramento City stormed back in the fourth inning with four runs. Larissa Banks opened the frame with a solo home run, followed by an RBI walk from Chloe Kimbrell and a run-scoring single from Jenna Potter. The Panthers added two more in the fifth on RBI hits from Lily Lopez and Izzy Fisher to extend their lead to 9–4, then tacked on one final insurance run in the sixth.
Solid Relief Work Secures the Win
After starter Iliana Cano exited in the third, Korrie Almond held the Beavers to one run over 3.2 innings of relief. Seguin closed out the game in the seventh despite allowing one more run on a double by Kaylah Adams.
Power and Pressure from Top to Bottom
The Panthers totaled 11 hits and were active on the basepaths, swiping four bases. Eight different players scored at least one run, and seven different players recorded at least one hit. The offense capitalized on three American River errors and aggressive base running.
