The Panthers cruise past the Falcons 13-1; Seguin goes deep and Almond picks up another complete-game win

Sac City Crushes Folsom Lake, 13–1, Behind Seguin's Homer and Almond's Gem

Sacramento City College lit up the scoreboard Saturday afternoon, routing Folsom Lake 13–1 in five innings at home. The Panthers erupted for seven runs in the fourth to enforce the mercy rule and improve to 26–11 overall and 11–8 in Big 8 Conference play.

Freshman slugger Ava Seguin paced the offense with a two-run home run, while Korrie Almond tossed a complete game five-hitter for her 15th win of the season.

Panthers Answer Quickly, Then Break It Open

After Folsom Lake scratched across a run in the top of the first on Rhanoa Barton's RBI single, Sac City responded immediately. Chloe Kimbrell led off with a triple and came around to score on an error, tying the game. Isabela Rogel added an RBI single and later stole second, allowing Larissa Banks to score on the throw for a 3–1 lead.

The Panthers kept rolling in the second as Kimbrell drove in another with a single and Seguin followed with her sixth homer of the season, making it 6–1.

Fourth Inning Onslaught Ends It

Sac City sent 12 batters to the plate in a wild fourth inning, capitalizing on two errors and five hits to score seven runs. RBI knocks from Jenna Potter, Kayla Garber, Alaina Taeu, Rogel, and Lily Lopez pushed the lead to double digits. Elyse McCartney capped the rally with a sacrifice fly to left.

Almond Silences Falcons' Bats

Korrie Almond (W, 15–8) was dominant in the circle, scattering five hits over five innings while striking out six. She didn't allow a walk and kept Folsom Lake off the board after the opening frame.

Folsom Lake Falls to 10–29

With the loss, Folsom Lake dropped to 10–29 overall and 4–16 in conference play. Despite five hits—including a double from Melia Ritchie and a 2-for-2 day by Marianna Prieto—the Falcons couldn't keep up with Sac City's firepower.
