Freshman Hannah Chapla has been a force in the water through the month of March and has emerged as the top women's swimmer for the Panthers. Most recently Chapla scored 62 points (of the 80 individual points) for City at the 2-day Hawks Invite at Las Positas College. Her previous season-high points total was 54 at the Sac City invite in February. At that meet she would finish 3rd in the 50 yard backstroke and 50 yard freestyle, and 4th in the 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard fly. Hannah finished 1st in the 100 yard backstroke, 2nd in the 100 yard freestyle, and 5th in the 50 yard freestyle at the Big 8 Invite. Still to come for Chapla and the Panthers swim team are the Big 8 Championships and State Championships later this month and in early May respectively.
