SAC CITY ADVANCES TO CCCAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS!

 

5/13 Game 1 vs San Jose City 8-0 

The Panthers defeated San Jose City 8-0 in 5 innings Friday May 13th. Fr P Kali Sargent pitched another shutout giving her 23 wins this season. Fr P (#26) Kali Sargent also had 2 hits, 3 RBI, and scored a run in the victory. Sac City also had So LF (#15) Morgan Welch go 2-2 with 2 runs and 2 RBI. Fr RF (#2) Catie Gravel went 2-3 with 2 runs scored. So C (#13) Kaitlyn Leffle was also 2-3 with 2 runs scored and an 1 RBI. 

 

5/14 Game 2 vs Fresno City 6-5 

Sac City went down 3-0 after the first two innings before the Panthers exploded with 5 runs in the third inning. Fresno City also added 2 more runs tying the game at 5-5. Sac City was able to close out the win in the seventh inning 6-5. So P (#16) Jostyn Bebout came in and pitched 5 innings with 2 strikeouts in the win. Sac City was led by So C (#13) Kaitlyn Leffle who was 2-3 with 1 run 3 RBI. Fr RF (#2) Catie Gravel had another big game going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. So 2B (#4) Madison Butcoff was 2-4 with 1 run scored and Fr SS (#6) Katie Lopez 1-3 with 1 run and 1 RBI.

 

5/15 Game 3 vs Fresno City 2-0

In their final Super Regional game Sac City and Fresno City battled again in close game with the Panthers coming out on top 2-0. 

Congratulations to Coach Kiernan, the Sac City softball team and the entire coaching staff for advancing to the CCCAA State Championships. The Panthers (34-8-1) will face Cypress (40-5) Friday May 20th 8 PM at Bakersfield College.
