The Panthers take 2nd at the North Regionals; 9 wrestlers qualified for the State Championships next weekend

The SCC Panthers finished 2nd at the North Regionals and had 9 wrestlers qualify for the State Championships (along with 2 alternates). 
 
Raul Ortiz (141), Hunter Larue (157), and Chase Miles (174) were individual champions. 
 
Cole Kachmar (133) and Manny Curry (165) placed 2nd.
 
Alexander Thornburg (165) placed 4th.
 
Joe Kachmar (149) and Steven Karas (197) placed 5th
 
Richard Mello (184) and Hayden Elias (285) placed 6th
 
Jacob Hiller (133) placed 7th. 
 
Highlights:
  • #8 seed Cole Kachmar defeated the #1 and #4 seeded wrestlers in his weight class.
  • Hunter Larue defeated the #1 seeded Josh McMillon from Fresno City in the semifinals before defeating Ryan Ojeda from Sierra in the Finals.
