The Panthers got off to a slow start from the field shooting just 33% and trailed 22-16 after the first quarter. The Sac City Panthers were able to get into a rhythm offensively and in the second and third quarters of the game outscored Butte College 42-19.
Sac City used good ball movement and were led by sophomore G (#12) Jasmine Bernardo career-high 24 points (8-15 FG / 6-12 3 PM/ 2-2 FT) with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Sophomore G/ F (#23) Aleea Reese had 23 points (8-13 FG / 3-5 3 PM /3-5 FT) and 9 rebounds and also had a gritty performance put in by freshman G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale who finished with 18 points (6-13 FG / 2-4 3PM / 4-4 FT) and 7 rebounds which sealed the victory for the Panthers.
The Sacramento City College Women's Basketball team shot 46% (29-63) from the floor, 81% (17-21) from the free throw line and 44% from the 3 point arc (11-25) while defensively they were able to hold Butte College to (21-52) 40% shooting from the floor.
Sacramento City College Women's Basketball next game is against Foothill November 20th in the Sierra College Tournament at 1 PM.
