The NorCal 5th ranked Panthers Women's basketball program is excited about their return to the playoffs and are ready to make a run at bringing home a state championship. They will face the defending state champion Chabot Gladiators (16-12) with 4 of the top 11 3 point sharpshooters in the Big 8 on their roster. So PG (#0) Corina Tacardon shot 39.8%(1st), Rs Fr G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale shot 38.6 % (2nd), So G (#12) Jasmine Bernardo shot 37.9 % (4th) and So F (#23) Aleea Reese shot 33.5% (#11) in Big 8 play this season. Sac City defeated Chabot earlier in the season December 28th 69-57.
Fr G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale was selected 2nd team All-State and to the Big 8 All-Conference Team. Congratulations to Jessica and the entire Sac City coaching staff for this wonderful achievement!

The regional seedings were released Monday afternoon determining matchups for the 2016 basketball regional championship tournaments. Round 1 of play begins on Wednesday, February 24. The Mt. San Antonio College (29-1) and City College of San Francisco women (25-3) earned the top seeds in their respective regions. They'll await the winners of Wednesday's games to determine their matchup.
Games are to be played at 7pm throughout the regional tournaments except in the case of a men's & women's doubleheader. Postconference play will take place on the following dates
Round 1 - Wednesday, February 24
Round 2 - Friday/Saturday, February 26/27
Round 3 - Wednesday, March 2
Round 4 - Saturday, March 5
State Championships - Friday-Sunday, March 11-13
