The Panthers started off the 2016 season by hosting and winning the KLS Air Express Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 17). Sac City finished with 142 points, followed by Fresno City with 125 points and Chabot with 64 points.
The Panthers had 4 individual weight class champions. At 133 pounds, teammates Raymond Angeles and Devon Silva were co-champions; while Derek Lee Loy took first place at 174 pound. Trevor Wright was the champion at 184 pounds and was named the KLS Express Invitational Most Outstanding Wrestler. The other champion for SCC was Jerrad Kirk at 285 pounds.
There were three 2nd place finishers for Sac City in Morgan Sauseda (125 lbs.), Hunter Minton (149 lbs.), and Forrest Gray (197 lbs.).
