Panthers win 40-9 over Simpson University on Sophomore night

SCC faced Simpson University on Sophomore night, the last home match of for these Sophomores at Sac City. The Panthers won 8 of 10 matches to win 40-9.

And although it was a big win for these SCC Wrestlers, the best match of the night was the last. Freshman SCC wrestler Morgan Sauseda met Simpson University's, Mason Sauseda, a senior and his brother...and mom was there to watch. Well, after a back and forth 3 rounds, it was tied 4-4. In OT, older brother Mason took a shot, and Morgan's counter attempt did not work, so Mason won 6-4 in OT. As for the other matches, Daniel Larman (165) won by fall, Trevor Wright (197) won by tech, Devon Silva (141) and Niko Chapman won by Major Decision and Hunter Minton (149) won by decision. Three other wins were by FF. SCC is now 7-1 on the season and 3-0 in the BIG 8.

The Panthers head to Fresno this weekend for the Bill Musick Open.
