Santa Rosa Invitational Tournament December 10th-12th

 

Game 1 San Francisco:

The (#18) Panthers returned to action in the Santa Rosa Invitational Tournament December 10th with their 2nd matchup this season against the 6th ranked San Francisco City College Rams. The 1st game on November 21st sophomore F (#21) Kristen Gooding hit a free throw with 2.1 seconds to secure the win 63-62. The Panthers came out strong and were leading (40-28) at the half. The Panthers led by as much in 18 points in this rematch Sac City and won the game 70-62. The Sac City Panthers were led by redshirt freshman G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale scored 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 6 assists with 2 steals. (#23) G/F Aleea Reese scored 15 points and pulled in 5 rebounds. (#11) Guard Jasmine Bernardo scored 11 points and grabbed 3 rebounds.

 

Game 2 San Joaquin Delta:

The Sacramento City College Panthers the (#18) team in the state defeated the (#2) team in the state San Joaquin Delta Mustangs in overtime (65-59). The Panthers were led by redshirt freshman G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale big time performance where she scored 21 points ( grabbed 15 rebounds, had 5 steals, dished out 3 assists and had 2 blocks. Sophomores G/F Aleea Reese scored 15 points  and grabbed 4 rebounds and had 4 steals.  Sophomore G (#12) Jasmine Bernardo finished with 12 points (4-10 3PM) grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Sophomore F (#21) Kristen Gooding scored 7 points on 3-3 from the field and sophomore F (#5) Erica Foster pulled down 9 rebounds.

 

Game 3 Santa Rosa: (Championship Game)

The #18 Sacramento City College Panthers coming off their overtime win against Delta led 16-4 against #17 Santa Rosa at the end of the first quarter. Santa Rosa then rallied in the second quarter outscoring Sac City 20-9. Sac City led at the half 25-24 and led after 3 quarter 42-38. Santa Rosa outsc ored the Panthers 32-24 in the fourth quarter and overtime for a final score of 70-66.  The Panthers were led by sophomore G/F (#23) Aleea Reese who scored 27 points (7-19 FG/3-8 3PM/ 10-14 FT). Redshirt freshman G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale finished with 13 points (4-9FG/4-8 3PM/1-2FT) with 9 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists. Freshman PG (#10) Mikaila Royster scored 12 points dished out 4 assists and had 4 steals in the game as well.

 

Santa Rosa Invitational All Tournament Team:

Sophomore G/F (#23) Aleea Reese named to all tournament team

Redshirt freshmen G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale made her third consecutive all tournament team this season.

 

The Sacramento City College Women's Basketball team will have its first home game this season on Friday, December 18th against Feather River at 5 PM. Come out and show your Panther Pride!
