Prior to Sacramento City College, Coleman was a Director at Point Guard College (PGC) from 2009-2019. Coleman was responsible for supervising 5-day overnight basketball camps at colleges across the nation for athletes from 4th grade to college. Some of the duties included overseeing 15-30 athletes as a Basket Instructor and 100's as a camp director, providing off-court classroom sessions focusing on playmaking/basketball IQ, mindset, and leadership. Coleman provided on-court direct instruction and demos while adapting teaching style to meet the needs of athletes, implemented camp schedules including drills, scrimmages, and team-building activities. He provided coaching techniques and terminology to guest coaches through classroom, film, and court sessions. Coleman oversaw camp logistics including equipment management, facility scheduling, meal planning, gear distribution, fostered a positive and inclusive camp environment, and encouraged athletes to build relationships and develop leadership skills. Coleman would also communicate with parents/guardians regarding athletes' progress and concerns, and conduct ongoing evaluations of camp programs and staff while utilizing feedback to improve future camps.
As a High School Coach, Coleman organized and structured daily practices geared towards developing fundamentals, provided players with a proper self-image to maintain leadership, trust, and confidence, successfully implemented a 6-week Modesto Youth Basketball League for kinder-junior high school, maintained a balanced budget, established fundraising, managed equipment/facilities, and monitored student/athlete academic progress.
As a Trainer and the Owner of Versus Hoop Academy, Coleman develops and implements clinics, small groups, and one-on-one training sessions. He primarily serves the majority of high school/college athletes, intentionally builds trust and relationships with parents/athletes, focuses on reads, IQ, fundamentals, and mental strategies. Coleman is also involved in Athletes in Mission (AIM).
Coleman played collegiately at Montana State University Bozeman and earned his Bachelor's Degree of Science (BS) in Sociology in 2014.
