Coach Avendano, Head Women's Cross Country CVoach, brings an abundance of cross-country and track and field experience to the Sacramento City College program.

A graduate of Paramount High School in Los Angeles, Avendano was a CIF Champion in the 1600m and runner-up in the 3200m, recording personal bests of 5:01 and 11:08 respectfully. Coach Avendano won numerous conference titles in both cross-country and in track while attending California State University, Los Angeles. She also did the same after she transferred to California State University, Sacramento. Avendano is a 9-Time All-American in cross-country and in track. She was the first athlete in CSU-Sacramento history to earn Division I All-American honors.

Coach Avendano received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from CSU-Sacramento in 1998 and received her Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology in 2001 from CSU-Sacramento. She is married and resides in Sacramento.
