Panthers finish 3rd in the first meet of the 2017 season (at the Sierra Invitational)

The Women's Cross Country team officially opened the 2017 season on Friday, September 1st at the Sierra Invitational in Rocklin.  The Panthers finished in 3rd place with a combined time of 1:55:38 and 58 total team points.  Team points are calculated by taking the top 5 individual racers for each school – teams with less than 5 runners finishing will not qualify for a team score or placement in the meet.

Perla Gonzalez-Rodriguez was the first Panther to cross the finish line, in 8th place with a time of 21:55.1 followed by teammate Jasmine Loyola in 9th place with a time of 22:13.5.  Daryia Greene finished in 12th place (22:52.2), while Deja Johnson was the 17th runner to cross the line at 23:34.6.  The 5th Panther to finish the race and complete the team scoring was Lauren Foster in 22nd place with a time of 25:02.9.
