The Women's Cross Country team officially opened the 2017 season on Friday, September 1^st at the Sierra Invitational in Rocklin.  The Panthers finished in 3^rd place with a combined time of 1:55:38 and 58 total team points.  Team points are calculated by taking the top 5 individual racers for each school – teams with less than 5 runners finishing will not qualify for a team score or placement in the meet.

Perla Gonzalez-Rodriguez was the first Panther to cross the finish line, in 8^th place with a time of 21:55.1 followed by teammate Jasmine Loyola in 9^th place with a time of 22:13.5.  Daryia Greene finished in 12^th place (22:52.2), while Deja Johnson was the 17^th runner to cross the line at 23:34.6.  The 5^th Panther to finish the race and complete the team scoring was Lauren Foster in 22^nd place with a time of 25:02.9.
