Saddleback defeats the Panthers 11-7 in the opening game of the Modesto Tournament

The Saddleback Gauchos came out firing on Friday morning at the Modesto Tournament and led the Panthers 3-0 after the 1st quarter.  In the 2nd quarter, the Gauchos added 4 more goals, while the Panthers finally got on the board with a Kelsie Estep goal (Monique Berg assist).  Saddleback won the 3rd quarter 3-2, and in the 4th quarter 4-1, but in the end the game went to the Gauchos 11-7.

Kelsie Estep ended the game with 3 goals and so did teammate Brea Ruvalcaba (along with 3 assists)...the other goal was scored by Deborah Briggs.

The Panthers will play ther host Pirates later on today to close out the Modesto Tournament.
