Sac City Strikes First, But Napa Valley Responds

The game began with Sacramento City taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Cal Elvis singled to drive in Dylan Drake, who had reached on a walk. Napa Valley quickly responded in the second inning, with Mason DeOcampo reaching first on a right-field error, allowing Owen Nelson to score and tie the game at 1-1.

Napa Valley Takes Control, But Sacramento City Fights Back

Napa Valley took control in the fourth inning, scoring four unearned runs on a series of errors and a passed ball. Shosei Tatsuno was hit by a pitch to start the inning, and DeOcampo later scored on a passed ball, giving Napa Valley a 2-1 lead. Then, Wyatt Smith's unearned run off a right-field error helped Napa Valley extend their lead to 4-1. They tacked on another unearned run when Smith scored on a passed ball, pushing the advantage to 5-1.

Sacramento City responded in the bottom of the fourth, as Lucas Drake doubled to bring in Dom Agrella, narrowing the gap to 5-2. Jackson Norton followed with a sacrifice fly to bring in Drake, cutting the lead to 5-3.

The fifth inning was a pivotal moment as Sacramento City continued to chip away at Napa Valley's lead. After a run from Agrella on a passed ball, followed by an RBI groundout from Norton, Sacramento City tied the game at 6-6.

Mayberry's Big Hit Caps Off the Win

With the game deadlocked in the eighth inning, Tyson Mayberry came through with a clutch two-RBI single, scoring Eddie Fines and Norton to give Sacramento City an 8-6 lead. Napa Valley couldn't respond in the ninth, and Sacramento City held on for the win.
