Sacramento City Dominates Sierra 14-5 in a Conference Showdown

Sacramento City College powered past Sierra College with a decisive 14-5 victory in their Big 8 Conference clash on March 28, 2025. Despite a late rally from Sierra, Sacramento City's early offensive explosion and solid pitching sealed the win, improving their record to 19-12 (10-5 Big 8 Conference).

Sacramento City Explodes Early The Panthers wasted no time in the first inning, scoring four runs thanks to a series of big hits. Brady Wilson's RBI single brought in the first run, and he later scored on a wild pitch to give Sacramento City a 4-0 lead. In the second inning, the Panthers added another 7 runs, highlighted by a 3-RBI triple from Tyson Mayberry, making it a commanding 11-0 lead after just two frames.

Sierra Fights Back Sierra didn't give up, answering with their first run in the fourth inning when Brady Ranallo singled in Landon Vetter. The Wolverines added a second run in the sixth after a throwing error allowed Vetter to score. They made a small dent in Sacramento City's lead in the seventh with a 2-RBI double from Colin Gallagher, cutting the score to 12-5.

Sacramento City Closes the Door Despite Sierra's fight, Sacramento City answered back in the eighth with a 2-run double by Ryan Okino to stretch their lead to 14-5. That would be more than enough as their pitching staff held strong through the final innings.

Pitching Dominance Joe Muraoka (W, 2-2) earned the win, going six solid innings, allowing just two runs while striking out six. Drew Brown came in for one inning of relief, while Kyle Seo and Cody Williams combined for the final two frames, keeping Sierra off the board.
