Sac City Fr G (#11) Jessica Lauderdale from Kennedy HS, has been selected 2nd team All-State and Big 8 All-Conference.
In December, she had 4 games with 20 or more points on 34 made 3's in 11 games. Lauderdale led Sac City with wins over 2 top 5 teams in the state Lauderdale had 21 pts and 15 rebs against Delta and 14 pts and 9 rebs against CCSF. She earned 1 tournament MVP and 4 all-tournament team selections with Sac City at the Sasha Brown Classic (Sierra), Gilcrest Tournament (COS), Santa Rosa Tournament, and the Mike Gervasoni Memorial (DeAnza) prior to Big 8 conference play. Lauderdale had helped lead Sacramento City to become the #9 RPI team in the State and a record of 14-4.
In Big 8 play Lauderdale was the fourth leading scorer averaging 15.7 PPG and 6.8 RPG. Jessica shot 38.6% from the three-point line good for second best in the conference. Lauderdale helped lead the team to a 9-5 record in the Big 8 and a No. 5 seed in the regional championships. The Panthers (21-8) will host the defending state champions Chabot Gladiators (16-12) Saturday Feb. 27th at 7 PM in North Gym.
Coach Allender says, "Lauderdale is a great kid to say the least, gritty, tough and averages 38 minutes per game". The entire coaching staff and her teammates are proud of her achivements and look forward to Jessica playing well in the playoffs.
