The Gladiators score 5 in the 4th and win game one of Saturday's DH, 8-4

Sac City struck first with an unearned run in the bottom of the 1st inning in game one of their DH against Chabot on Saturday.  Shaq Robinson reached safely on an error by the shortstop with two outs.  Jake Guenther then singled to center and was followed by Jake Hathaway's RBI single to right that scored Shaq Robinson.  The Gladiators would tie the game in the 3rd with an unearned run, and would rally for 5 runs in the 4th inning to take the lead for good.

City would get a run back in the 5th as Antonio Torres was issued a 2 out walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch.  He would score on a RBI double down the left field line by Ruben Garza.  Chabot would add runs in the 6th and 9th innings and lead 8-2.  City would get 2 runs back in the bottom of the 9th inning.  J.R. Santiago reached first on a throwing error with one out, Antonio Torres and Ruben Garza both walked with two outs and Jake Guenther hit a 2 RBI single to centerfield.  That would be all the Panthers could scratch across in the 9th as Chabot won the game 8-4.

Jake Guenther was 2x4 in the game with 2 RBI's, Ruben Garza and Creed Smith both doubled, and the RBI single by Jake Hathaway would be all the hits the Panthers offense would get off Chabot pitching that struck out 12 batters.  The Panthers staff would strike out 11 batters themselves.  Polo Portela struck out 7 in 3.2 innings of work, and Adam Erickson and Christian Straub both struck out 2 batters.

Game two of this non-conference DH starts at 6pm at the U.
