Women's Basketball Tips Off the 2016-17 season against Fresno City

The Panthers are ranked #10 in Northern California in the 2016-17 Pre-Season Coaches Poll and will be tested right out of the gate when they play their season opener against #3 Fresno City College.  That will be the opening round game of the Sasha Brown Classic at Sierra College (Rocklin) on Friday, November 18th.

The double-elimination tournament will continue on Saturday and Sunday, November 19th and 20th.  City will play either the winner or loser of the Contra Costa/San Francisco City game on Saturday at 1pm (if they lose Friday) or 5pm (if they win).

Looking ahead to another competitve Conference schedule come the new year....Sac City is one of 6 teams from the Big 8 Conference ranked in the Nor-Cal Top 15 Pre-Season poll.  Sierra College is the North pre-season #1 team.  Diablo Valley came in at #4 followed by San Joaquin Delta at #5.  Santa Rosa enters the season in a three-way tie for #7 and American River sits at #14.
