Sacramento City Defeats Yuba 3-2 in Close Contest on February 22, 2025

Sacramento City edged out Yuba in a tightly contested game on February 22, 2025, with a 3-2 victory. Despite a late rally from Yuba, Sacramento City's pitching and timely hitting were enough to secure the win in Marysville.

Strong Pitching from Seguin and Cano

Ava Seguin got the start for Sacramento City and pitched 6.2 solid innings. She allowed just five hits, two earned runs, and struck out three while issuing two walks. The win was credited to Iliana Cano, who came in to close the game with 1.1 innings of relief, allowing just one hit and striking out two batters.

Sacramento City's Timely Offense

Sacramento City's offense struggled to generate consistent runs but made their hits count when they mattered. The team was held scoreless through the first five innings but broke through in the sixth. The inning began with Larissa Banks reaching base with a single, followed by an RBI single from Madelynn Flores, bringing in the first run of the game. Later, Izzy Fisher added another run with a single, and Larissa Banks' RBI brought in the final run for the 3-0 advantage.

Yuba's Late Rally Falls Short

Yuba's offense had its opportunities, but a couple of defensive miscues and the strong pitching from Sacramento City made it difficult to find their rhythm. Yuba's best chance came in the bottom of the seventh inning when they finally pushed across two runs. Jerzie Brown had a key two-RBI single, but that would be all Yuba could muster as they were unable to score again, leaving the final score at 3-2 in favor of Sacramento City.
