Sacramento City Cruises to 9-1 Victory Over Reedley
Sacramento City is back on a winning streak (2nd in a row), dominating Reedley 9-1 in a one-sided February 8, 2025 matchup. Behind a strong performance from pitcher Korrie Almond and an explosive offense, Sacramento City improved to 6-1 on the season.
Sacramento City Takes Control Early
Sacramento City wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. After Chloe Kimbrell scored on a fielding error, the home team took a 1-0 lead. Reedley answered in the third inning when Angelina Castellanos scored on a wild pitch, tying the game at 1-1. But Sacramento City quickly regained the lead with two runs in the third. Ava Seguin tripled home Jenna Potter and then scored on an RBI single from Amanda Royal, making it 3-1.
Sacramento City Breaks Away in the Fifth and Sixth
In the fifth, Sacramento City exploded for four runs. Larissa Banks tripled to score both Kayla Garber and Seguin, then Izzy Fisher followed up with an RBI double, bringing in Banks. Lily Lopez capped the rally with an RBI single that scored Fisher, extending the lead to 7-1.
The scoring continued in the sixth as Angela Marfull singled to bring home Potter, followed by Madelynn Flores' sacrifice fly that allowed Royal to score, pushing the lead to 9-1.
Korrie Almond Shines in the Circle
Korrie Almond (3-1) was dominant on the mound for Sacramento City. She pitched a complete game, allowing just one run on five hits while striking out four. Almond kept Reedley off balance throughout, never allowing more than one runner to reach base in an inning after the third.
Reedley Struggles at the Plate
Reedley, now 0-5 on the season, was limited to just five hits, with Angelina Castellanos and Hope Ficher each contributing two hits. Elissa Olea (0-1) took the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) in 2.1 innings. The Reedley pitching staff struggled to contain Sacramento City's potent offense, as Olea, Aubryelle Agular, and Sierra Hallum combined to give up 14 hits and nine runs.
