Sac City Stays Hot, Pounds Folsom Lake 16–5 Behind Garber's 7-RBI Explosion

Sacramento City College completed the series sweep of Folsom Lake in dominant fashion on Saturday, using a relentless offensive attack and a lights-out performance from Ava Seguin in the circle to claim a 16–5 mercy-rule win in six innings.

With the victory, the Panthers improve to 27–11 overall and 12–8 in Big 8 Conference play, while the Falcons fall to 10–30 (4–17).

Garber Shines in Career Day

Kayla Garber put together a monster performance, going 3-for-5 with a double, a grand slam, and seven RBIs, driving in runs in three separate innings to power the Panthers' offense. Her four-run homer in the sixth inning capped a five-run rally that put the game out of reach.

Ava Seguin also contributed on both sides of the ball, blasting a two-run homer in the first and tossing a complete game in the circle. The sophomore struck out four, walked none, and scattered seven hits over six innings to improve to 5–1 on the year.

Falcons Start Fast, But Panthers Answer

Folsom Lake opened the scoring in the first when Grace Diaz, who went 3-for-3 on the day, came around to score on a Marianna Prieto single. But Sac City quickly responded in the bottom half as Seguin crushed a two-run shot to give the home team a 2–1 lead.

The Falcons briefly reclaimed the lead in the third, scoring twice on a clutch single from Melia Ritchie. However, the Panthers answered again in the bottom of the frame, taking a 5–3 lead behind RBI hits from Isabela Rogel and Lily Lopez.

Five-Run Fourth Breaks it Open

Sac City blew the game wide open in the fourth, putting up five more runs, including a two-run double by Garber and RBIs from Lopez, Larissa Banks, and Elyse McCartney. Garber added another RBI in the fifth, and then sealed the game with her no-doubt grand slam an inning later.
