Sacramento City Controls Game in 6–1 Victory Over Cosumnes River
Sacramento City College delivered a steady offensive performance and a complete-game effort in the circle from Korrie Almond to defeat Cosumnes River 6–1 on April 5, 2025. The Panthers used timely hitting and capitalized on defensive miscues to pull away and secure the win.
Early Offense Sets the Tone
Sac City struck first in the second inning on an RBI single from Juliana McClain that brought home Isabela Rogel. They added another run in the third when Rogel grounded out to short, scoring Jenna Potter. The Panthers kept the pressure on with two more runs in the fourth, highlighted by Potter's RBI double and Kayla Garber's run-scoring single.
Capitalizing on Mistakes
In the sixth, Sacramento City padded its lead with help from Cosumnes River's defense. A fielding error and a passed ball allowed two more runs to cross the plate, extending the lead to 6–0.
Almond Goes the Distance
Korrie Almond was dominant in the circle, allowing just four hits and one earned run while striking out three in a complete-game effort. The only blemish came in the seventh when Ariana Fuentes doubled home Kalani Hernandez to get Cosumnes River on the board.
