Sac City Cruises Past Sierra 7–0 Behind Seguin's Big Day, Almond-Cano Shutout

Rocklin, CA — Sacramento City College kept their momentum rolling on Tuesday, blanking Sierra College 7–0 on the road behind a dominant two-way performance from Ava Seguin and a combined four-hit shutout by pitchers Korrie Almond and Iliana Cano.

With the win, the Panthers improve to 28–11 overall and 13–8 in Big 8 Conference play, while the Wolverines fall to 9–28-1 (3–18).

Seguin Sparks Offense with 4-RBI Game

Seguin powered the Panthers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with a triple and four RBIs, including a clutch bases-loaded hit in the fourth inning that broke the game wide open. The sophomore first baseman also stole a base and laid down a sacrifice bunt, showcasing her all-around impact.

Sac City opened the scoring early, putting up two runs in the first and then breaking it wide open with a four-run fourth, highlighted by RBI doubles from Isabela Rogel and Kayla Garber, along with Seguin's big knock.

Pitching Duo Silences Sierra

Making her first start of the season, Korrie Almond tossed 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up just two hits and striking out three to earn the win. Iliana Cano followed with 3.1 strong innings in relief, allowing only two hits and no walks while striking out one.

Sac City's defense was sharp behind them, committing no errors and stranding all four Sierra baserunners.

Potter Scores Three, Rogel and Garber Contribute

Jenna Potter drew three walks, scored three runs, and swiped two bases, setting the table at the top of the lineup. Rogel added two hits and an RBI, while Garber chipped in an RBI double and drew a walk. The Panthers stole six bases as a team and stranded 20 runners.
